Rain came to the mid-valley again today. I went out to make some pictures along quirky Lower Pass Road.

Went to the Yuba River in the foothills today with some friends.

On the way back, we ran into Louie of the Frankenpledge Party, who has been traveling around the country with his trailer painted with slogans such as 'Battling the New Fascism". He's been doing it for three years now.

Snow survey // Medido de nieve

California Department of Water Resources conducted their second snow survey in late January, in the Central Sierra near South Lake Tahoe. Results are slightly above average for this time of year, but much more is needed to fill California reservoirs.

California Department of Water Rosources conduyeron su segundo midido de nieve en los fines de enebro, en el Sierra Centrál cerca de South Lake Tahoe. Los resultados son ligeramente por encima del promedio, pero mucho mas es necesario para llenar los embalses de California.

CA Storms / Tormentas de California

Most of the big ones have passed for now, and North California escaped without much of a scratch (unlike the South). A windy evening and spotty rain made for beautiful conditions.

La mayor de las grandes ya pasaron para ahorita, y el Norte de California escapó sin casi una rasca (no como el sur). Un atardecer con soplar fuerte y lluvia manchada hecho ambiente tranquillo.

Storms threaten flooding // Tormentas amenazan inundaciones

Heavy rain in California for the past couple days, today being no exception. I went hunting for flooding, but there was no major damage reported. Tomorrow is supposed to bring the heaviest rains of the week, and I will be out once again. Stay tuned.
